Rodrigo Borges Carneiro is a lawyer, industrial property agent and partner of the Dannemann Siemsen firm, where he has worked since 1995. Having graduated in Law from the Pontifical Catholic University in Rio de Janeiro (PUC-RIO), Rodrigo has a Master’s degree in Intellectual Property from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago in the United States (2000). He also has a post-graduate degree in International Copyright Law from King’s College, London University (2005), and in Company Law from the Pontifical Catholic University in Rio de Janeiro (1995), also having a diploma in “Summer School in English Legal Methods” from Sidney Sussex College at Cambridge University (1996). In the academic field, Rodrigo Carneiro has lectured as a visiting professor on the Post-graduate course in Intellectual Property and at the Higher Law School – ESA in Sao Paulo on Entertainment Law. Also as a visiting professor at FGV-Rio, he lectured on advertising and television programme formats on the Intellectual Property course. He is a director of the Dannemann Siemsen Institute for Technical and Legal Studies.
As a lawyer, Rodrigo Carneiro attends to a significant clientele in the entertainment industry including the audio-visual area of music and new media, and works on the drawing up and negotiation of contracts involving different areas of entertainment law, advising clients on trademarks and copyright, and dealing with complex lawsuits involving entertainment law, copyright, personality rights and trademarks. He also deals with the release of trademark rights and film rights for cinema and television, for both national and foreign productions.
