Senior Partner and Chairman of the Board of Dannemann, Siemsen, Bigler & Ipanema Moreira, where he has worked since 1981, especially in the areas of patents, industrial designs and unfair competition, Ivan has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rio de Janeiro Federal University (UFRJ), is an Industrial Property Agent and was a guest researcher at the Max-Planck Institute for Foreign and International Patent, Copyright and Competition Law in Munich.
He was Vice-President of FICPI (Fédération Internationale des Conseils en Propriété Intellectuelle) from 2018 to 2022, where he is currently a member of the Council, and he is also member of important associations such as ABPI, ABAPI and AIPPI.
He is the author of dozens of articles published in national and foreign magazines and co-author of the book “Protection in Industrial Property Law” (Publisher GEN).
Ivan has served as representative of associations at meetings of WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organisation) and the WTO (World Trade Organisation). And he was a proponent of several amendments incorporated into the draft law from which the current Industrial Property Law originated.
In recognition of his work, he was cited in MIP IP Star 2022, Leaders League 2022, IAM GLOBAL 2022 and IAM PATENT 1000 – 2022.
