Peter Dirk Siemsen was born in Rio de Janeiro, graduated at the University of The State of Rio de Janeiro and admitted to the Brazilian Bar in 1955. He is a partner of Dannemann Siemsen. Mr. Siemsen is a member of the IP Hall of Fame Academy, founder and President of Honour of ABPI and ASIPI. He is a Member of Honour of ABAPI, Member of Honour and Ex-president of AIPPI and Member of Honour of FICPI. Mr. Siemsen is a former Vice President of the Commission on Intellectual Property of the ICC and Regional Ambassador of ICC for Latin America, Arbitrator of the Arbitration and Mediation Center of WIPO and Arbitrator of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Peter Dirk Siemsen is also a member of INTA (Ex-director and Recipient of the INTA’s President’s Award), GRUR, AIPLA, ITMA, ECTA, MARQUES, LES, ATRIP, LIDC, Honorary Partner and Member of the Board of Directors of Amcham/RJ. He is the author of various articles published on industrial property and transfer of technology in Brazil, Germany, Switzerland, the UK, Japan, Spain, Hungary and the US and has lectured in Brazil, Latin America, the US, South Africa, Europe, Japan and Australia. Decorated with the Tamadaré Merit Medal in 1972, and the Order of Naval Merit Medal, in 2006, awarded by the Brazilian Navy.
