Ivan B. Ahlert is a partner of the firm where has worked since 1981 especially in the areas of patents, industrial designs and unfair competition. He holds a degree from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in Mechanical Engineering, is an Industrial Property Agent and was a researcher at the Max-Planck Institute for Foreign and International Patent, Copyright and Competition Law, from April to June 1994. He is currently Vice-President of CET (Commission d’Etude et de Travail) at FICPI (Federation International des Conseils en Propriete Industrielle) and also a member of the Brazilian Association of Industrial Property (ABPI), the Brazilian Association of Industrial Property Agents (ABAPI) and the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI). He is the author of dozens of articles published in national and international magazines. He has represented associations at meetings at WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) and at the WTO (World Trade Organization). He put forward various amendments which were incorporated into the bill from which the Industrial Property Law originated. He is responsible for the Firm Editorial Committee and integrates the Ethics Committee as well as its Audit Committee.
