Ana Claudia Mamede Carneiro, a chemical engineer and industrial property agent, is a partner of the Dannemann Siemsen firm working in the Patent Department. Having graduated in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) she has a post graduate degree in Quality Engineering from the University of Sao Paulo (USP). Currently, she is the cultural director of the Associação Paulista de Propriedade Intelectual – ASPI.

Ana Claudia attends to national and international clients, principally in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Agrochemical, Petrochemical, Food, Cosmetics and Chemical Industries in general.  Her principal activities include:

  • Preparation and monitoring of patent applications.
  • Communication and manifestation to technical opinions and oppositions
  • Preparation of technical opinions on: patentability, scope of protection, infringement (freedom to operate), chances of success of patent cases in view of the practices of INPI and ANVISA (National Health Surveillance Agency)
  • Acting a technical assistant in judicial actions
  • Attending to various consultations – with emphasis on issues relating to access to genetic resources and associated traditional knowledge and benefit sharing, patentable material in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, and health registrations
  • Filing and monitoring of applications for registrations of plant varieties
  • Filing and monitoring of patent application and various consultations in different countries
